Dreams Fulfilled
Health Pavilion Aviary
On March 18, 2009 Twin Towers was able to dedicate a long awaited Aviary on the third
floor of the Health Pavilion thanks to the generous donations from the John H. Brockschmidt and Agnes L. Brockschmidt Private Foundations. The Foundations not only financed the purchase and installation of the Aviary they also provided funds to support the monthly maintenance and upkeep.
Documentary Project
Creating a recorded documentary of the hopes, dreams and daily lives of residents at LEC
has been a desire of the organization for several years. In 2009 the dream was realized through the generosity of the General Electric Community Fund and the Ohio Arts Council Arts Learning Program. The documentary entitled Advent was filmed by Artist in Residence Melissa Godoy and captures personal thoughts and comments on aging, family, loss of a spouse, and moving to a senior living community with the approach of the New Year.
Peace Garden
There was a garden with a fountain outside of the Fireside Lounge at Twin Lakes in need of landscaping at the same time that Warren Ashley, Twin Lakes Chaplain and his wife Debbie Dreidam Ashley were in need of a way to honor the memory of their mothers. Both women had gentle souls, a strong faith relationship and a passion for gardening. Warren and Debbie realized that they could honor their mothers through donating the flowers and plants to complete the ‘Peace Garden’ in 2008. The beautiful fountain is now surrounded with a meditative labyrinth, a trellis and several glorious flower beds.
